Inner Peace is when we live from the ideals and principles that we believe make us a truly valued person. When our internal guidance system, our higher principles, and our daily action are in alignment then we have inner peace. In essence Inner Peace is when our mind and our spirits have come into alignment in regards to our ideals and higher principles. As long as we let nothing disrupts them as we live from those principles. Inner peace radiates from us as humility and as self-confidence. We are our true selves when we have and live from Inner Peace. We are that which we hold in high esteem. When we live in alignment with what we hold in high esteem it follows that we have high esteem for ourselves. This is true self esteem, not achieved from artificial “at-a-boys/good job” for doing a task correctly. This self esteem is fully aware of our personal limits and our personal abilities, both humility and self-confidence are expressed at this point. This self esteem does not require us to take actions to prove that we are great or valued. We know we are valued just by the virtue that we have come into alignment with our higher ideals. There is nothing else that needs to be done or to achieve to make us a truly valued person. We have Inner Peace.

This is from a Wayne Dyer’s talk at a conference at Tyson, Arizona, on the “10 Symptoms of Inner Peace”, that were handed down to him.
This is a genuine food-for-the-soul article. Grow and enjoy!
10 Steps to Gaining Inner Peace
The symptoms go hand in hand with each other. As you’ll grow and learn, you will find that they are one and the same.
1. Tendency to act spontaneously, less planned.
2. Ability to enjoy each moment.
3. A loss of interest in judging other people.
If you address people you don’t know with a title of respect,
you learn to wee the unfolding of the Divine within anyone.
Then judgment becomes impossible.
4. A disinterest in explaining the behavior of others.
Affirm to yourself: ‘I am allowed.’
5. A decision to give conflict a ‘pass’
How: Don’t let the other person know
6. You’ll stop watching the news & stop reading tabloids — sources of negativity & conflict.
7. Loss of the ability to ‘worry’. Don’t ‘worry’ about things you have no control over. Don’t worry be happy.
No need to worry about things to worry about things you have control over, because you have control over it.
Voila. Worry problems solved.
8. Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation & contented feelings of connectedness with people & nature. Connectedness means knowing ‘we are all one’.
9. Frequent ‘attacks’ of smiling. Cheerfulness is one of the qualities of spirituality
10. An increased susceptibility to the love provided by others, and an uncontrollable urge to love others.

Self Care

Imagine if you had a Jag parked out front, most likely you would take it to a specialized shop for oil changes and regular tune ups. You would put in the specified oil and fuel and follow the guidelines for maintenance.

Why don’t we take care of our selves at least as good as we take care of our vehicles? We may have a minimum maintenance plan such as the daily or semi daily workout. If we are really good to our selves we may get a massage a couple times a year; for a special occasion.

This is totally crazy. We treat the most marvelous machine on the planet as a throw away. We give it the cheapest poorest quality fuel we can find, never change it’s filters or fluids. Then we over work it and wonder why the parts fail.

This marvelous machine, the body, and its onboard powerful computer, the brain, will run at optimum levels for 80 plus year just by keeping it hydrated, well lubricated and welled fueled. The minimum requirements for regular operation are: Daily drinking 1 oz of purified water for ever 2 pounds of body weight to keep it hydrated. High octane fuel is equivalent to organic non processed foods. You wouldn’t put sugar in your Jags fuel tank so don’t but it in yours. The lubrication and the computer requires essential fatty acids, omega 3’s and movement. Additionally you could do light (energy) work which is like detailing the interior of the vehicle while doing body work (massage) is like detailing the exterior.

Treat you personal marvelous machine well because at age 65 it will only be as good as the care you have given it for the last 40 years.
